As soon as he arrives there, he is put face to face with an unbearable cold that drives him to take shelter inside a mine that seems to be abandoned.Įxploring the mine, Philip starts to put together pieces of a story which lead him to understand about the existence of a psychoactive toxin and some mutated creatures. The game begins with a short narration from Philip, a physicist, who ventures into an uninhabited area in Greenland after coming across a letter from his allegedly dead father. Unlike most first-person games, in this one you will not have firearms to deal with the dangers around you, instead you will rely on the everyday objects around you in order to survive. Penumbra is an adventure-survival-horror game that takes you into a mysterious mine where you have to discover what happened to the people there.
